Cute kid-friendly climb-on dinosaur

As well as looking adorable, this sleepy long-nosed dinosaur tells a story from Australia’s distant past. The Muttaburrasaurus langdoni was a plant-eating dinosaur that lived in the Cretaceous Period, just over 100 million years ago. It was a large ornithopod with an unusual, rounded bony snout.

Natureworks has created this delightful replica of a young Muttaburrasaurus at a child-friendly scale. Designed for climbing on, the sculpture’s sturdy construction makes it perfect for kids’ play areas.

We have loved the ‘Mutta’ ever since making a giant replica of a Muttaburrasaurus dinosaur for the Queensland town of Muttaburra, where the fossil skeleton was found. Since then, we’ve made various Mutta replicas (see them here). Get in touch to get your Mutta!

Custom designed by Natureworks in Brisbane, this is a magnificent sculpture full of character! Our cute sleeping Muttaburrasaur dinosaur sculpture is 300 cm long, 90 cm wide and 61 cm high. We also have a custom giant life-sized Muttaburrasaurus (9m high) and a smaller-than-life-sized Medium Muttaburrasaurus sculpture at 2.2m high.

Did you know…

Muttaburrasaurus was a large ornithopod that had an unusual, rounded bony snout
It was one of the most complete dinosaur finds from Australia and the first to be cast and mounted for display
The dinosaur is known from the discovery of a fairly complete skeleton, which is unlike most other Cretaceous dinosaur finds from Australia
The adult dinosaur could have weighed as much as two rhinoceroses!
The reconstruction is based on a fossil skeleton of an adult Muttaburrasaurus found near the Queensland town of Muttaburra in 1963
