Barramundi 100lb

World record Baramundi 100lb

In December the legendary barramundi kayak angler Denis Harold landed a 134cm Barra at Lake Monduran Queensland. It weighed 44.62kg. Its girth was measured at 107 cm and its length was 135cm (4.1/2 foot).

The fish was frozen and sent to Natureworks in Brisbane where it was moulded by David Joffe in January 2011.

This was confirmed as a (16FA) “all tackle” word record.

It was caught on a slow-moving 130mm black/gold squidgy trolled behind a Kayak under a full moon on a very lightweight tackle.

The resulting cast by Natureworks is a museum standard reproduction, designed as a wall mount or to be a free hanging sculpt.

The steel stand can be ordered as a special photo-opportunity which enables the “fisherman” to appear to be “holding up” his catch. It was developed for Anaconda stores and is bolted to the floor in the tackle shop.
