When it came to creating a world-class polar bear habitat at Sea World Gold Coast, Natureworks took on the challenge of designing an environment that would make visitors marvel at the beauty of the space while giving the bears everything they need to stay active and engaged.
With the theme “An Arctic Summer”, the goal was to create a habitat so immersive that guests would be drawn into the experience, appreciating the bears’ incredible surroundings rather than focusing on the icy Arctic landscapes they naturally come from
These rockwork structures do more than just look stunning—they serve an important purpose in the bears’ everyday lives.
The exhibit features:
✔ Rugged climbing areas that encourage natural movement and exploration.
✔ Rock-integrated waterfalls adding to the immersive experience.
✔ A large swimming pool where visitors can watch the bears dive and play from a unique underwater viewing platform.
✔ Shaded resting areas and tree trunks, creating a comfortable and enriching space.
✔ Toys and play areas built into the rockwork to keep the bears mentally and physically stimulated.
