Grizzly Bears, sometimes called North American Brown Bears, live in North America (over half are in Alaska). Although usually brown, their colour varies from pale brown to almost black.
Did you know… The omnivorous grizzly bear will get ready for winter by eating as much as 40 kg of food a day in the months beforehand. The bear sleeps through most of the winter in dens or holes in the ground, waking up every so often only for warm weather. When spring arrives again, he’s lost a significant amount of weight over the hibernation months.
