Did you know that the Procoptodon goliah, which lived during the Pleistocene, would have overlapped with Australia’s Indigenous people for as long as 30,000 years? In New South Wales, aboriginal people pass down stories of a large kangaroo that would attack people. Its extinction may have been due to climate changes, hunting by man, and other causes.
This sculpture captures the Procoptodon’s massive size and distinct features, lovingly reconstructed from fossil evidence and paleontological research. It makes a unique display item for zoos, botanical gardens and educational displays.
