Exciting water splash park for kids
On a warm day, Broome’s Town Beach echoes with the sounds of excited children playing in the recently refurbished water park. It’s the sort of project Natureworks loves getting involved with. We provided marine themed sculptures for a beachside splash park that encourages kids to play outside, get wet and have fun!
Reflecting the local marine environment
As envisaged by the project’s landscape architect firm Josh Byrne & Associates, the Broome water splash park reflects its immediate surroundings. The natural rocks and sculptures of marine animals combine with colourful water features to create an exciting experience for children and families to enjoy.
“The Broome Water Park depicts the local Kimberly marine environment, in particular the junction between the iron rich land, sandstone cliffs and turquoise ocean. Located at the newly upgraded Broome Town Beach it offers a bespoke water play experience for children of all ages and abilities.”

Safe, strong playground sculptures
For the Broome splash park, Natureworks provided a set of fibreglass sculptures designed to survive in the harsh environment of an outdoor splash park full of lively children!
All the water play sculptures we provided comply with Australian Playground Standards. To increase longevity, the sculptures were finished with pre-pigmented gel coat over a heavy duty fibreglass laminate. Where supporting armatures or fittings were needed, we used marine grade stainless steel. For example, the bill of the swordfish is made of steel and includes water spouts.
Because the Natureworks team has many years’ experience designing sculptures for playgrounds and water parks, we know how to design and make play items that are safe, long-lasting and fit for purpose. Read more about playground safety here.

Water playgrounds and splash parks are not just for kids!
At Natureworks, we don’t simply provide products that promote nature-based play – we help businesses and communities to thrive!
A well designed playground or water park attracts families from far and wide, revitalising public areas, boosting social engagement and supporting local businesses. To make this happen, we work with local councils, landscape architects, developers, project managers, schools, community groups and many others.
Our team would love to help you create an engaging play space or local attraction. The Natureworks collection of child-friendly animal art, climb-on sculptures and nature-themed kids’ furniture suits a wide range of purposes, but we can create custom pieces too.
We offer a number of Australian playground certified products, while many others can be designed and built to meet those specifications. We can also advise on safety and practical considerations, or contribute to funding proposals for a proposed community playground or visitor attraction.
