Natureworks was commissioned to design holes and props for a custom putt-putt course with a twist of humour. Get ready for some fun! It’s Westfield Shopping Centre’s mini-golf course Putt in the Park at Coomera on the Gold Coast. ‘The Park’ venue also includes ten-pin bowling and arcade games.
This mini-golf course is designed to entice and entertain customers whatever the occasion. It tickles the senses of the whole gang – young and old, big and small – and gets them out and about too.
Parkland theme inside shopping centre
Play in the park while staying inside!
This parkland-themed custom putt-putt course helps bring the outside in, with artificial plants, rocks and animals. Designed for fun and playability, the terrain takes players up and over bridges, through ponds and past some bizarre and fun-looking props. These are designed to keep customers entertained and coming back for more.
A sense of fun and whimsy
This is a mini golf attraction designed to make players smile! Look out for whimsical props such as…
- a custom-made outback dunny (with legs visible – watch out, there’s someone in there!)
- a chimp sitting on a log that makes a great seat as well as an obstacle
- a dog cheekily lifting its leg in a peeing pose
- a Friesian calf with cow patty (not smelly, luckily!)
- a jetty and bridge, with artificial rocks and stepping stones over the ‘lake’
- an artificial tree with an owl peering out of a hole
- friendly garden gnomes
- artificial logs, park fences and a park entry arch.
"You even have to putt through the legs of someone sitting on an outside thunder box! It’s all about fun and it doesn’t matter how old or young you are. It will delight the whole family and test your putting ability."

Mini golf theming for maximum impact
This themed attraction is a great example of parkland and garden mini-golf theming. The design builds on traditional mini-golf elements and adds a few quirky touches to provide a memorable experience. The humorous elements help to put players in a good mood, which is not only good for them, it’s good for business!
The choice of a parkland theme was natural, reinforcing the name of the attraction, The Park, Coomera. A park or garden theme also works well for outdoor minigolf courses or attractions at golf clubs and other sports or community venues. For a less quirky, more natural version, see the Minigolf at Crescent Head Country Club project.
