A prehistoric world of fun, in the shape of a dinosaur mini-golf course featuring dinosaur sculptures and props by Natureworks, recently opened near Yeppoon in Queensland.
Capricorn Dinosaur Park and Dinosaur Mini-Golf are part of Cooberrie Park, which includes the beautiful Cooberrie Wildlife Sanctuary where visitors can get close to our wonderful wildlife. There is also a Megafauna Discovery Walk, where visitors can experience and learn about extinct creatures from Earth’s past.
As you can see from the images below, the dinosaur mini-golf course provides lots of photo opportunities!

Recreating a prehistoric world
The dinosaur mini-golf course opened in 2022, and the Dinosaur Park is under construction. Natureworks supplied a range of dinosaur sculptures and prehistoric-themed props for the mini-golf course and is busy creating a range of exciting pieces for the Dinosaur Park.
Capricorn Dinosaur Park, with its prehistoric-feeling natural landscape and rich red soil, will include over thirty life-size dinosaur sculptures as well as trails, play areas and a fossil dig. The experience of digging for replica fossils provides an enjoyable physical educational play experience for children.
Natureworks has also created a beautiful entry statement for the Megafauna Discovery Walk, which opened in late 2021. This educational walk features life-size cutouts and statues of the giant-sized megafauna that existed millions of years ago.
A tourist drawcard for the Capricorn Coast
The Capricorn Dinosaur Park project has been developed as a result of Cooberrie Park’s successful application for the Queensland State Government’s Growing Tourism Infrastructure Fund in 2020. The new tourist attraction has helped to create jobs in the area. As a Queensland-based business, Natureworks is proud to be involved in the project.
“Capricorn Dinosaur Mini Golf is the first part of a massive tourism venture that will include a one-kilometre wheelchair and stroller friendly dinosaur walk around lush, landscaped gardens, 35 life-sized replicas of dinosaurs, an educational fossil dig, an interactive indoor area and more….We’re talking substantial sized dinosaurs that are life-like and life-sized and they’ve all been built in Queensland.”

Create your own mini-golf course or tourist attraction
It can be relatively simple to set up a successful mini-golf course. Natureworks has designed quite a few putt-putt courses over the last 40 years and can design your mini-golf course or simply provide sculptures and themed props to help you create a unique experience. Most of our animal sculptures and props can be adapted to suit mini-golf, for example by adding holes.
If you have a grand vision (like the managers of Cooberrie Park did), you can create something truly unique that becomes a world-class tourist attraction. Natureworks is happy to provide input to funding proposals and advise on cost, feasibility or design to help your project get off the ground.
