BANKSTOWN SPORTS CLUB – commercial fit-out
In 19994 Natureworks undertook a series of major themed redevelopments of the Bankstown Sports Club in Sydney. These were completed over a 10 year period and 4 contracts. It is widely regarded as the most spectacular themed club venue in Australia and creates a must-see themed experienced for patrons wanting a diverse
Stage 1 – Rainforest & Giant Strangler fig
The first project was the creation of a rainforest basalt outcrop overgrown by a giant strangler fig and a series of palm trees, tree ferns and epiphytic growth over the rock feature. All of which was built in concrete and fibreglass. Included was a series of waterfalls and a cave overhang onto a performing arts stage.
Stage 2 – Greenfield Station Facade, Restaurant & theming
Then came the reconstruction of the 100-year-old Greenfield station which was fabricated in hard-coated polystyrene foam carved into flat traditional sandstone wall panelling. This now serves as an A la carte restaurant for over 300 guests. All of the features were built-in lightweight hollow systems so as to meet the weight restrictions required of the suspended slab.
Stage 3 – Hong Kong Streetscape – Laneway
Following this, Natureworks undertook the reconstruction of a Hong Kong Streetscape in a 1920’s style. Included in this fit-out was the huge task of creating a reproduction of a series of 10 authentic Asian restaurant shop fronts all spilling out into a laneway filled with tables and chairs and the public who were dining in the streetscape alleyway of an olde world.
Stage 4 – South American Rainforest themed Landscape
The last of the themed fit-outs produced a rich South American rainforest-themed landscape which connected the original rainforest lobby down one level into the gaming lounge. This richly decorated rainforest habitat featured over 100 birds, mammals, reptiles and insects and hundreds of spectacular synthetic foliage’s.
