Before he became known as the beloved red-clad Grandpa figure, Santa Claus was first introduced in literature as an elf-like man. But eventually, different interpretations turned him into the jolly man he is known for today.
However, elves remained in Yuletide celebrations. According to folklore, Christmas elves help Santa run the North Pole and even create the gifts he gives away to good little boys and girls. Similar to the original image of Santa Claus in “The Night Before Christmas” these elves have elongated ears, short body stature, and long feet.
They’re extremely busy during the Christmas season but what about the summer? This fiberglass statue perfectly shows what Christmas elves do in the off-season.
Clad in a sleeveless white shirt, red board shorts, and a pair of dark sunglasses, this elf is ready to hit the beach — right after finishing up gift production for Christmas. Or perhaps this elf also dreams of a tropical Holiday even on the North Pole!
