Santa’s Mailbox 100cm

Thousands of kids write letters to St. Nick every year. They tell him all the good deeds they did and pick out a toy or a wish they want Santa to grant. Then, they drop it in the mailbox for it to reach him in the North Pole. But how exactly did this tradition start?

There are various stories of Santa’s origins but it wasn’t until 1871 when American illustrator Thomas Nast drew the beloved figure reading letters from children. The image showed two piles of letters on Santa’s desk. The taller tower was filled with letters from “naughty children’s parents” while the shorter ones were from “good children’s parents.

In 1879, Nast illustrated how Santa gets his mail from the US postal system. Now, every country has its own version of Santa’s mailbox.

This version takes the classic image of a red mailbox, adorned with snow, Christmas symbols, and the letters SC embossed on it. It comes in a big and small versions and is perfect for outdoor decorations.
