Leaf Frieze large panel – Various Versions
The leaf frieze was originally a design proposed by Natureworks for the new Herbarium foyer at Mt. Cootha Botanical Gardens Brisbane. It was created as a statement to focus public attention on the importance and diversity of leaf shape and function in the world of plants.
David Joffe collected a vast range of Queensland rainforest plants from his garden of 40 years at Mt. Glorious and pinned pressed the leaf arrangement under glass overnight. The next morning a plaster mould was made of the arrangement and the master created it from this original piece.
The final castings are now produced in a range of painted leaf greens and versions in bronze and green bronze are available (insert A) –
The wall art pays tribute to the key role leaves play in producing oxygen for life on our planet.
Triptych versions are available of the 3 options for the piece which can be bought singly if required.
