One of the crowd favourites every Holiday season is Santa Claus’ team of reindeers. They’re a special bunch that every child would love to pet and cuddle. Unlike the imposing real-life reindeer, however, the cute fuzzy creatures embedded in children’s stories look more cuddle-friendly and innocent. Amongst all of Santa’s reindeers, however, none is more popular than Rudolph and his bright red nose!
Interestingly, Rudolph wasn’t part of the original line-up of reindeers in “A Visit From St. Nick.” The poem only mentioned eight reindeers and the red-nosed favourite is nowhere in sight. In fact, Rudolph came into being in 1939 when department store copywriter Robert Lewis May created a story to market to shoppers. Then it was turned into a song and the rest is history.
This fiberglass statue of a sitting Rudolph will make any home, department store, or courtyard cheerful and bright. It comes in a 7-foot or slightly smaller version and is decked with bells and a red Santa hat.
It also comes in different positions: sitting, skating, jumping, and as a wall mount.
