“The Little Drummer Boy” is one of the most beloved and famous Christmas carols around the world. It was composed by Katherine Kennicott Davis in 1941, originally titled “Carol of the Drums.” But it was only recorded 10 years later when the Austrian Trapp Family Singers sang the carol in 1951. It soon became a hit with various versions being recorded and published by chorales and solo artists alike.
The latest singers to cover the song were Justin Bieber, Pentatonix, and the cast of the hit musical series “Glee.”
The song itself talks about a boy who was summoned by a Magi to witness the birth of Jesus. Because he was not able to bring any sort of gift to offer, he instead played the drums with sincerity and a glad heart.
Celebrate the grateful heart of the Little Drummer Boy with this decorative larger-than-life drum. It’s great for an indoor or outdoor Christmas setup.
