Candy canes are a favourite treat for kids during the holidays. Its shape and colour are so distinguishable that seeing one would immediately make people think of Christmas.
There are no confirmed stories about the origins of candy canes. But one legend says a choirmaster made “sugar sticks” to the children to keep them behaved during Christmas sermons. He also shaped them into an inverted J shape to look like a shepherd’s staff. Apparently, it became a hit and the rest is history.
Fast forward to modern times and they’re no longer strictly for eating. Of course, kids still get them as stocking stuffing or as a treat after Christmas lunch. But, they are also used as decorations for the Yuletide season; as tree ornaments, little trinkets, or giant figurines.
This 4-foot hanging candy cane figurine is made of fiberglass and attached to a wall mount. It’s great for storefront doors, outdoor decorations, and even indoor decorations. It comes in two different colours: white with small red stripes or red with white red stripes.
