This product is designed for individuals interested in dinosaurs or those looking to add a simple and subtle decorative element to their workspace or living area.

Natureworks has chosen to sculpt a mini version of our Giant Rhoetosaurus browni – Australia’s favourite Sauropod and give him new life as part of its prehistoric range which can be displayed inside on a shelf.

NOTE: When two Mini Rhoetosaurus brownei models are placed adjacent to each other they create a great centre piece display in the shape of a heart. If you swap out the small mini version for our GIANT Rhoetosaurus brownei version then they both will provide and extraordinary entry statement for a themed park, or tourist attraction destination.

Why reconstruct the Rhoetosaurus brownei?

In 1971, David Joffe (CEO of Natureworks) began his career in museum techniques as a 19-year-old cadet museum preparator at the Queensland Museum under Terry Tebble as the senior preparator.

During his time at the museum and after skinning over 500 dead rats for preparation as study skins for the curator of mammals and reptiles at the time, Jeanette Covacevich assigned his first fun job was the moulding and casting of the femur of Rhoetosaurus brownei which was about 1.5metres in length.

This was the early beginning of his interest in paleo-biological reconstruction which would evolve into this passion for reconstructing life-sized models of ancient Australian prehistoric animals.

He did not imagine that 51 years later he would be reconstructing the first full-sized fibreglass fleshed-out model of the same animal. His next challenge is to sell one of these magnificent dinosaurs to fund his next dinosaur reconstruction.

Why build a giant Rhoetosaurs Brownei dinosaur?

To mark the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the fossil remains of Rhoetosaurus brownei in Roma, Natureworks has undertaken the sculpt of this famous Queensland dinosaur which is now complete and displayed in the gardens at the Natureworks studio at Highvale.

Accompanying this piece is an adolescent seat version which is ideal for childcare centres.

Both pieces are built to the Australian playground standards and finished in coloured gelcoat which is our most durable outdoor colouring system.

This scaled model was developed as a prototype of the Natureworks GIANT Rhoetosaurus Brownei Dinosaur.

Clear coat finish or a heavy duty gel coat finish is recommended for all products that will be used outside, to protect the finish. See product care guide
