Carousels are thought to be classic staples in any amusement park, but the inspiration for this ride actually dates back several hundred years past.

The merry-go-rounds that are known and beloved today were inspired by jousting and cavalry games from 12th century Europe and Asia. Basically, people ride horses and go around in a circle while they try to throw balls of perfume at each other. Later on, it evolved into them sticking a spear into small hanging rings. Jousting and cavalry games have long been obsolete but it lives on in carousel rides instead.

Aside from riding horses, the sense of fun and excitement remained throughout the evolution of the carousel.

Recreate this sense of excitement with a fun carousel setup for Christmas or for other occasions that need decorations. This fiberglass white “flying horse” will be a selfie-magnet, for sure!

Aside from a horse, other creatures are also available to create a carousel replica. Unicorns, reindeers, and zebras are also available in different colours. This horse statue comes in brown as well.
