Gladiator Bust

The Gladiator does not just involve Russell Crowe in his armour in the hit movie about an ancient Roman fighter. It is about life and death in an arena and about gladiators who were mostly slaves, criminals, prisoners, and unfortunate aristocrats that gambled and fought for their lives for the sake of survival. They were the subject of a spectacle that was deemed as an organized competition that doubled as entertainment for Roman aristocrats, visiting officials, or simply to distract the masses from political upheavals.
