They are known as the daughters of Sun-God Helios and Moon-Goddess Selene. Also, they are considered Hera’s handmaidens and gatekeepers of heaven.

Kheimon is the deity personification of winter, the least well-loved season, especially by farmers. Kheimon’s role as the winter goddess is to ensure that the cold season will start at the right time and duration, the frost should not come early or too late otherwise it will destroy the harvest season.
