Thylacine – Tasmanian Tiger – Pepper ghost illusion / Dingo
The Pepper’s Ghost illusion is an appropriate display medium to present elements of mystery and uncertainty.
In this case, a mounted dingo specimen was posed in the same position as a hidden 3-dimensional Thylacine model (Thylacinus cynocephalus).
The dingo was permanently located in the cave, illuminated with spotlights. As these lights periodically faded until off, the reflected light levels of the hidden Thylacine were increased until this reflected image drowned out the 3D dingo behind the glass.
So, the Thylacine was possibly “displaced” by the coming of the dingo with aboriginal Australians from the northern land-bridge connecting New Guinea and Asia.
