Komodo Dragon – 3.3m- live cast replica
Originally sculpted for Taronga Zoo – Sydney
Our famous 3m Komodo Dragon was originally sculpted by Natureworks for the Serpentaria reptile exhibit built in 1993 at Taronga Zoo in Sydney.
We were able to accurately replicate the 10ft long 300lb specimen which was in captivity there at the time.
The venomous Komodo Dragon likely evolved on the Australian mainland before its distribution shrinking back to only four islands in Indonesia.
Copies from our original mould have been sold all over the world and our skilled craftsmen are still producing castings of this famous sculpture in fibre-reinforced composite painted true to life and in a metallic-sprayed bronze finish OR hand painted showcasing its beautiful natural colouring that mirrors its natural landscape of rugged landscapes and dry forests.
