- The black rhinoceros (scientific name: Diceros bicornis) is one of the two rhino species found in Africa. In the same way that the white rhino is not white, the black rhino is not actually black. The authentic colour is more brown / grey.
- Black rhinos have two horns, with the front horn being larger and more prominent. These horns are made of keratin, the same material as human nails and hair. Despite their value on the black market, rhino horns do not have medicinal properties.
