About Polar Bear with Cub
As adults, polar bears look adorable and fluffy thanks to their white (transparent!) fur. As cubs, they’re a hundred times cuter!
To become such cuties, the mother polar bear or sow spends the entire year preparing for birthing and taking care of her babies.
After mating in the spring, a sow then looks for a suitable snowy area to create a den where she will give birth. She creates a little cave snug enough for her to turn around and waits for the snow to cover it up. Then, once she gives birth, she stays in the den with her cubs for up to four months, not eating or drinking anything and relying solely on fats to survive. By the time the family emerges in the springtime, the cubs are already energetic little troublemakers.
The mother bear doesn’t cuddle her babies though. She makes sure to correct and discipline her kids until they’re grown enough to live on their own.
