Brolga Bird Statue

(Gus rubicunda)

This elegant tall, slender bird with long legs can be found wandering around the wetlands in tropical south-eastern Australia and New Guinea extracting tubers from mud using their long bill.

The beautiful plumage is mainly grey with back wing tips and has a little orange-red band of colour on its head that is characteristic of this species.
